About our Websites

Wild Child Web manages a range of websites in eleven subject categories:

  • Accounting
  • Divorce
  • Home Help – Caring for the sick or elderly at home
  • Household Help
  • Landscaping
  • Legal
  • Nannies, Day Care, and Camps
  • Organizing
  • Renovations
  • Recruitment
  • Wedding Planning

Each of these categories has approximately 20-24 geographically targeted websites, roughly one for each of the top 20 largest markets in the USA.

For a full list of websites that are currently online, please click here.

All of these websites are aimed at consumers. These are not trade websites (ie, the legal websites are not for lawyers). The intent is to provide consumers with insight and advice about that aspect of their lives, but not to replace expert advice they may get from, for instance, an accountant or lawyer.

What we’re after

We’re looking for papers, articles, etc that fulfil the following criteria:

  • Specifically about one of the above categories
  • Focusing on how-to or advice for laypeople
  • As the tone of these sites is to be helpful, practical, and doable, we are especially interested in contributions that offer concrete action items, templates, checklists, etc
  • Also welcome are suggested resources, books, websites, etc, although please do not include your own website in the text of your article unless your site provides some kind of useful, pertinent resource on your site. You are, of course, welcome to link to your site in your author blurb.
  • At least 600 words long (not including your blurb)
  • You are free to offer advice for just one of the geographic market websites, or more general advice, which can be used across all 20-odd target market websites

We will not consider contributions that:

  • Are blatantly self-promotional
  • Are academic in nature
  • Include embedded revenue-generating code (eg, Google AdSense or Amazon Associates code)

What’s in it for contributors

No, you won’t get paid. You do stand to gain a fair bit from contributing, however:

  • Your expertise will be showcased to people who are actively seeking information and advice on the subject
  • You will get a byline at the top of the article
  • You will get an author blurb at the end of your article. This blurb can include information about you and/or your company, contact details, and one or more links to your website
  • Good back-links (see point above) – That’s web-speak for links back to your own website from credible, related sites. Good back-links increase your search engine ranking

What happens to the contributions?

By contributing, you will agree to have your contribution(s) featured on any or all of thes websites in the nominated category, depending on how broad the need or interest is in your chosen topic(s). We are open to suggestion as to which sites you’d like to be featured on, but the final decision will lie with us.

Speaking of final decisions, not everyone will get a run on these sites. You don’t need to have a big industry “name”, but you do need to follow the contributor guidelines. This ensures a strong quality of content for readers and your fellow authors alike.

We reserve the right to make minor spelling or grammatical edits, but will not change the meaning of your work in any way.

Copyright will always remain with you, and should you decide that you would like to remove or change any of your contributions, just let us know and we’ll sort it out as quickly as we can. We agree not to publish or distribute your material beyond these websites under any circumstances, except with your written permission.
